Hey people I am awaiting for my tax refund to finally purchase my charger and I get more anxious by the day wating for it,
but anyhow I have noticed lot of people wanting to go faster and faster but I have yet to see a post for any concern of braking power, considering I have been reading this forum only for a month. My question is I don't wish to convert to any big brake upgrade but rather swap out the front rotors with some cross drilled or slotted ones. What do you people recommend as a good rotor/pad combo to use on the GSR's (99) . Thanks

I think a good set of brake pads go a long way. I don't think cross drilled or larger rotors are really needed. Check out the group buy on EBC pads on http://www.groupbuycenter.com/ page 5 I think now.

Well if you have a REAL nice tax refund coming check out : http://www.ultimategarage.com/bigbrake1.html
and

I think those should do nicely. I've got the Axxis MM pads with stock rotors and I'm very happy with them.

Hey Gmullin good but not that good besides the refund is whats gonna allow me to purchase my charger..FINALLY!! but come next year I better have my own house purchased because with the cash I am making now I am gonna get raped by the IRS!
By the way thanks to you guys who hav given me your setups and suggestions so far! You bunch are a big help I personally never thought I would find a group of honda owners like this due to the fact the ones I usually see are just out to be the best and can't get along with one another. Competitiveness is good but hating each other is just plain fowl. I feel riht at home now just like I did when I owned my VR6. Peace fellas.. WAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZUUUUUPPPP!

gsrgrinch: whaz up! hey, bro...i'd jus go wid a pad upgrade ta some shitz like carbon kevlar material cuz they grab like a mutha, rotor friendly, and last a damn lot longer than that semi-metallic bullshitz...too much freak'n metals in there cut'n the shitz outta yo rotors! try da Portfield R4S, Carbotech Panthers or if ya all out racing then go wid the Hawks...not know bout them too good to be true EBCs cuz they new but, beware most of these f--k'n pads needs ta be warmed up ta be effective or yo azz will be slide'n into a damn brick wall...plus they don't give off that must asbestos dust all over yo cleanazz rims!
most of them big brake kits are full of shitz unless ya spend in the thousands upstage cuz like them AEM shitz and others they jus relocate the caliper wid new brackets...its the larger duel piston calipers that do the damn stopping not the freak'n size of yo rotors necessarily and if its cross drilled or slotted. but, i'd stay away from that cross-drilled nonsense if it aint a quality rotor cuz most silly shitz like Powerstop use cheapie aftermkt stamped rotors from Beck Arnley...cross drilled rotors tend ta crack easily even though that CNC process don't mean dick. while slotted are better at sweeping away the built up brake dust and cool the rotors...they can't be resurfaced once slots been cut into the f--kers. and yeah, you right on the $$$ bout upgrading ya brakes when ya get a JRSC cuz peeps seem ta forget ya gots to stop sometime after hauling azz in the triple digits!
peace.

The garage is my side gig and I have to say that the KVR stuff is the shit. I have run and installed their cross drilled rotors and they do not crack like the $tillen's and others.(look better too with more, but smaller holes) I have seen fine "lines" in some of them that have had VERY HARD track use(a 600+whp Supra used on a tight road course), but not on a "street car". Like their pads too...little to no dust and easier on the rotors than most pads.
I'm looking to try the EBC or whatever, "green stuff"...they make great sport bike pads. They claim to bite hard up to 1100 degrees and also produce little dust and are easy on the rotors also. This is their "street pad"...they have "red" and "black" also...think black doesn't even start to bite until 600 or so degrees! Can you say, full tight course race pad?

Well I have been using KVR x-drilled rotors and their carbon kevlar pads for about the last 6 months or so and I love them. They work way better then the stockers and look damn good.
I am sure that pads would work if you are worried about the extra money for the rotors but the Brembro's are better then the fatory rotors. I speek only from personal experience and I have had no problems with them and the pads are wearing evenly and sparingly with out scaring the rotors like the metal masters (from what I hear)
